I wouldn’t go. I can play for free locally. Plus, playing is so much better with people who know each other’s limits, body language, noises, expectations, etc. Besides, knowing that it’s a job for them would be off-putting for me. And paying to do manual labor? Riiiiight.
Still, I know it’s about more than that; it’s about the whole package, the fantasy. That’s what they’re selling. They’re creating a temporary world for their customers that doesn’t actually exist, sort of like Disneyland. The real world disappears for a while, replaced by this new world. It’s a giant role-play.
