Sexism
The last century saw considerable decline in sexism and the hindrances that gender clichés and gender role stereotypes. Particularly in the final three decades. Not that there isn’t still a huge amount of progress needed.
Female domination seemed oddly behind the times in many ways: a cultural wasteland of sexist generalizations. Funny in a sad sort of way.

I am actually turned off by fetish gear. I would like to think that a leading woman could wear anything she wants and look like the woman next door. Hey, maybe it could be the woman next door!
I think this kind of takes some of the mystery out of it. Women in normal clothes doing “normal” things. There is nothing special about her being in charge. She doesn’t have to get dressed up especially for it.
Now, having said this, if a guy has a fetish, a woman would be a fool not to take advantage of it if she is comfortable doing so.

Strapon training is a great tool for orgasim control and dominance reenforcement. The only danger is that your male may whine for it too often.

I agree with Mule, I am not turned on by BDSM/fetish outfits. I much prefer a domme in normal clothing, especially 1950’s style house dresses or modern office wear. I think this brings a sense of realness to it all and also it provides a nice irony or contradiction to the way she looks and the way she is about to behave. I like women that look as though have never had a domme inclination in their life.
